Getting in
*Transfered from my old blog
I got into pest control by pure luck. Working as a high rise window cleaner, we were offered a job operating scaffolding for a pest control company. A hospital had a mason wasp problem and the pest control company needed to apply pesticides into the weep holes of the brick 12 stories off the ground. Over the next few weeks I worked the these pest control operators (PCOs) and did not hear one complaint from them about their job. I was shocked, because that is all we did at the high-rise company. Thinking to myself, “This must be a great company to work for if their employees don’t have one bad thing to say about them”. So I started asking about job openings and sadly found out all positions were full and they have very low turn-over. I continued to work with the PCOs a few more weeks, and they surprisingly had an opening. I jumped at the opportunity faster than a cockroach clears the floor when the lights get turned on. Then starts my training of crazy facts, and scary scenes…to be continued.
